Epic Games Store introduces the first achievements

Epic Games has announced the launch of its gaming achievements to the Epic Games Store. This only applies to some productions, and the system itself will be further improved.

The Epic Games Store is starting to roll out achievements. Epic Games Store has gained popularity with free games, but even the most optimistic must admit that the platform is far from competing in terms of functionality. Of course, Epic Games has long announced the development of the store. For example, in September we received various (unfortunately, quite modest) amendments, including collection of games and patches. Now the company is testing another novelty: the achievement system. As reported on Twitter, "acki" is already available in some games, including ARK: Survival Evolved.

Epic Games noted that an early version of the system has been implemented so far, so we should expect various improvements in the future. The scarcity of the current version is evidenced by the fact that there is no mention of the presence of achievements on the games page in the Epic Games Store, as is the case on Steam. Unfortunately, Epic Games still does not provide the exact dates for introducing improvements to the platform. The company abandoned it almost a year ago in favor of a general division into the next modifications and those planned for the more distant future. So we don't know when the achievements will be widely available for games in the Epic Games Store.
