YouTube will disable the option of adding subtitles

YouTube has decided that the option to add subtitles to videos will be removed due to its low popularity and unethical abuse.

Let's hurry to love the inscriptions, they go away so quickly ... YouTube has been a social platform from the very beginning, so it adds new options that make it easier for users to use the website. This time, one of the functions will be removed - it is about the possibility of creating your own subtitles on the basis of an existing video. This decision is so controversial that people with disabilities will lose one of the sources enabling them to comfortably watch movies. YouTube translates as follows: This feature was used relatively rarely and often boiled down to spam or abuse, so we're removing it to focus on the rest of the creative tools. […] You will still be able to use your own, automatic and third-party subtitles.

This option will be removed on September 28, 2020. The perception of the whole situation by internet users is very negative, and YouTube has to reckon with harsh criticism. The deaf journalist Liam O'Dell informed about the platform's intentions via Twitter.
